Best drain and blocked drain specialists in Perth metro
Fifteen Perth metro businesses that treat blocked drains as a core service, scored on reviews, recency, sentiment and profile completeness (see our methodology). Scores last updated 2026-10-05.
Several firms here are plumbing and gas outfits that take drain work as a main line, alongside dedicated drain crews. For a general plumber for hot water, gas or renovations, see best plumber overall. Order follows the composite score, so a small review count or a low-confidence flag can hold a business back even with a perfect rating.
Picks are ranked by score and relevance to drain & blocked drains, so a lower overall score can rank higher here.

Ranked picks
Tap Tech Plumbing and Gas
Why it ranks first
A 5.0 rating across 147 reviews with top recency, and blocked drain jobs are the work reviewers praise most. Accurate ETAs, upfront quotes and a reported 30-minute emergency response make it a dependable first call. No complaints or come-backs appear in the review set.
Pros
- Emergency response reported at around 30 minutes
- Upfront quotes with no surprises
- Technicians check other systems while on site
- Text updates and a call before arrival
Watch out: Advisors may suggest waiting out weekend call-out fees if the job isn't urgent.
Services: drain blockage, emergency plumbing, hot water systems, roofing and gutters
The Plumbing & Electrical Co.
Why it ranks second
A 5.0 from 113 reviews, with long-term customers (one of 10 years) citing consistency. Reviewers say staff don't upsell, and one contrasted their honest assessment with a larger competitor's costly suggestions.
Pros
- On time and explains the work clearly
- No hidden fees or upselling
- Same-day or next-day response
- Jobs finished on budget with rubbish removed
Watch out: Reviews lean toward leak detection, hot water and gas, so drain-specific detail is thinner.
Services: new home construction plumbing, drain blockage, emergency plumbing, hot water systems
Woolf Plumbing & Gas
Why it ranks third
The largest review base here at 689 reviews and a 4.8 average. Reviewers repeatedly mention no call-out fee, same-day fixes and technicians who keep the house clean.
Pros
- No call-out fee mentioned by most reviewers
- Same-day service for blocked drains and hot water
- Named technicians recur across many jobs
- Honest costs upfront, will fix extras
Watch out: The 4.8 rating is a little below the perfect-score specialists, though the volume makes it more reliable.
Services: drain blockage, emergency plumbing, plumber, gas installation service
Litas Mainstone Plumbing & Gas
Why it ranks fourth
4.9 from 396 reviews. The team has handled tree-root blockages and after-hours emergencies, and repeat customers praise their reliability.

Wasp Plumbing
Why it ranks fifth

Pros
- Drain camera for accurate diagnosis
- Same-day and next-day availability
- Competitive rates and honest advice
- Covers emergencies through to renovations and commercial work
Watch out: The review count is moderate (60), so the score rests on fewer opinions than the busiest firms.
Services: new home construction plumbing, drain blockage, emergency plumbing, plumber
Plumbed Right
Why it ranks sixth
4.9 from 770 reviews, with technicians often arriving within the hour and finishing most jobs in under 60 minutes. Water jetting and pipe cleaning are strengths.
Pros
- Often on site within an hour
- Clear explanations and tidy cleanup
- Same-day booking is common
- Named technicians praised for friendliness
Watch out: Complaints include one misdiagnosis that led to repeat charges, a disputed bill and one report of rude service. Ask about diagnosis and pricing upfront.
Services: drain blockage, emergency plumbing, plumber, gas installation service
Drains HQ
Why it ranks seventh
A 5.0 from 58 reviews, almost all praising Ellis. He arrives same day or on emergency Sundays, films the drain and explains what he found. Jobs include tree roots 17 metres deep, septic tanks and decades-old kitchen blockages. The review count is modest.
Pros
- CCTV diagnosis with before-and-after photos
- Same-day and emergency response
- Fair, upfront quotes
- Handles roots, septic and heavy buildup
Watch out: Reviews centre on one technician, so availability may depend on his schedule.
Services: drain blockage, plumber, gas installation service, emergency plumbing
Mr Blockage Plumbing & Gas
Why it ranks eighth
4.8 from 339 reviews. Reviewers describe emergency calls answered within hours, on-time crews and quick finishes, with service across the Perth metro seven days a week.
Pros
- Same-day emergency response
- Open 7 days, covers metro suburbs
- Polite technicians who explain as they go

Watch out: Some reviewers found prices high on quick repairs and steep on larger jobs.
Services: drain blockage, emergency plumbing, hot water systems, plumber
Youngs Plumbing & Gas
Why it ranks ninth
4.9 from 288 reviews and a 47-year track record in Fremantle. Reviewers report on-time technicians, first-visit fixes and willingness to take on awkward jobs like tight-space excavations instead of costly workarounds.
Pros
- 47 years operating in Fremantle
- Multiple plumbing and gas licences
- Fixes done on the first visit
- Emergency sewerage blockages handled calmly
Watch out: Coverage is described around Fremantle, so check they service your suburb.
Services: emergency plumbing, plumber, gas installation service, gas fitting
Tunnel Vision
Why it ranks tenth

Pros
- CCTV check before and after clearing
- Punctual, quick attendance
- Named technicians praised for thoroughness
- Good for planned maintenance
Watch out: One caller felt a blockage was missed and reported the scope tangling during inspection.
Services: drain blockage, plumber, gas installation service, emergency plumbing
Drains Plus
Why it ranks #11
4.9 from 255 reviews. Multiple reviewers say Ian solved drains other plumbers couldn't, using camera and heavy-duty jetting to find root intrusion and failed seals and fix them properly.

- Same-day or next-day response
- Camera footage shows the fault and the fix
- Permanent fixes over patches
- Rings ahead if running late
Watch out: Some reviewers raised pricing concerns on certain jobs.
Services: drain blockage, emergency plumbing, plumber, gas installation service
BLOCKED DRAINS PERTH - Drain Cleaning Service
Why it ranks #12
A 5.0 from 160 reviews, with praise for Rob's quick, skilled work and on-site camera diagnosis. Flagged as low confidence in our scoring, so treat the score as less settled than the high-confidence entries.
Pros
- Same-day or next-day turnaround
- On-site camera diagnosis
- Upfront pricing
- Helps beyond the job scope
Watch out: One recent caller couldn't reach the business for a follow-up.

- Multiple quote options
- Cleans up and removes waste
- Named licensed plumbers
Watch out: Some found quotes expensive, and a few report slow follow-up on quotes, including a commercial job left for weeks.
Services: new home construction plumbing, drain blockage, emergency plumbing, hot water systems
Johnny Blue Plumbing
Why it ranks #14
A 5.0 from only 33 reviews, so the evidence base is small. Reviewers trust John with late-night callouts, and he uses a CCTV camera and high-pressure jetter and gives multiple options before starting.
Pros
- 24/7 availability, 15-minute response reported

Birdys Plumbing & Gas
Why it ranks #15

Pros
- Same-day emergency response
- Licensed and certified (PL11182, GF20294)
- Polite, thorough named technicians
- Prices explained before work begins
Watch out: Reviews mention drain work less than hot water and leaks.
